The Big Boy-Scout
During the last (first) trip of Unawe Indonesia, the team should took a long detour south, from Jogjakarta to East Java, since the the main road between the provinces was closed by flood. It took thrice the normal time if we use the main road. During the trip we pass the town of Pacitan, the hometown of the President of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudoyono.
Pacitan is the small town on a bay in the calm area of southern part of Java on the Indian Ocean. This is well known as the town of 1001 caves. But, we were not on vacation trip actually, since merely a detour trip. Nevertheless, there was still exciting experiences on the trip, since, .. surprise surprise .. we were greeted by many many boysouts of the nearby schools. Just like we are honorable guests. How could it be? We did not plan to visit the area nor want to be welcomed in such that manner. Even, we were escorted by the police!
Well, actually it was mistaken after all. Since, because of the flood in the north, The President planned to visit the location, but before that, he wanted to visit his hometown, so no wonder everyone around that area were so excited about his arrival; lucky for us, everyone thought that we were part of the Presidential Convoy, so there we were, greeted as if we were honorable guests.

To be honest, we in Indonesia still done so little compared to the vastness of the region of Indonesia, and so many many children in Indonesia still eager to know astronomy, but have no opportunities on this ‘depressing moment’ .. so still so much to do for us in Indonesia.
Our president still have so many burden on his shoulder, so we do not want to give more burden, but instead , we might share his burden, (hopefully), with our little program. The children do not deserved to be suppressed by the situation.
We will share our program from time to time .. good luck to all Unawe activist around the globe ..
